Sharing my numerology Personal Year 1

February 01, 20253 min read

I will happily talk to anyone and everyone about the 9-year cycle and Personal Years numerology concept. Honestly, if someone is sharing about a certain challenge or life experience that is particularly relevant to one of the personal years, I have been known to ask for their birthdate and calculate their cycle on the spot. Yet I'm still surprised every time when their Personal Year is exactly what I think it is! (Maybe one day I'll trust it haha).

I've known about Personal Year numerology for a while now, but it's only been the last three years that I've really embraced how impactful it is as a modality.

And last year, in 2024, I started a fresh cycle as I entered my Personal Year 1.

Year 1 is all about new beginnings (makes sense, right?). It is planting seeds and initiating.

My Personal Year 1 was also the year in which my partner and I packed up our lives, drove 3600km across the Nullabor, and started life on the opposite side of the country. New state, new home, new weather, new timezone, new landscape. And of course, over the year, there was new friends, a new job, new hobbies, new studies (I started my Reiki training) and a new space to see clients in Mandurah. I don't think I could have gotten much more new if I tried!

Moving into a new cycle with a Year 1 means the previous cycle is done and often it can affect connection with others as parts of yourself have likely changed during this time (especially during Year 9 - that one is a doozy!). I certainly experienced this and, as well as living in a whole new state, a level of loneliness came about. And, what do you know, one is "the loneliest number"!

The beautiful part though was that I know this - I expected it. When these things manifested, I had a deep understanding of the energy behind the challenge and could see how it was shaping me. I have a deep trust that everything was preparing me for the next eight years to come in this cycle.

Interestingly, the last time I was in a Year 1 was 2015. This just so happened to be the year that I left my now ex-husband. It was the year I started exploring and understanding my sexuality. It was the year I started therapy. Numerology also suggests that the energy of our Personal Year is heightened around our birthday. It was the day after my 25th birthday that I told my husband I was leaving (ageing myself here!) and it was around my birthday last year that I started to feel settled here in WA.

I think the most beautiful thing that my Year 1 brought was clarity on my long-term goals. My vision for this next cycle, this next chapter of life.

And now as I embark on my Personal Year 2 in 2025, I'm excited for the energy to slow down. To focus on connection and love. I'm aware of the challenges this energy may bring, but I also have a deeper understanding of the growth this will bring and its greater purpose within my identity.
