When I was younger, I treated life like it was a test that I needed to do well in. Certain choices were better than others, and the goal was the 'white picket fence' life.
So, I did just that. I got married, bought a house, and had a great job helping people. I was ‘ticking the boxes’ of life.
And then, at 25, it started to feel not quite right. I was questioning myself, my life, my identity, and I started trying to figure out what on earth I was supposed to do! It was at the end of my first session with a holistic counsellor I realised that a life changing decision lay ahead of me. And it was a big one.
Leaving my marriage was the hardest thing I have ever done (read my blog about this here or listen to the podcast episode below) but it was this radical change that shifted my entire trajectory. That one tough decision created space to build something new that aligned with my desires, my dreams, my soul, and my truth.
I didn't have any of the answers, nor could I see what was ahead, I just knew that this was the decision I had to make. And it was the start of something more incredible than I could have ever dreamed for myself.
Starting this business, ESP Souls, was another life changing decision that took me on a path of even greater learning and healing. It was created from a desire to guide others in their own spiritual journeys but, little did I know, it has become a great honour to witness and support others make their own life changing decisions.
Fun fact: The business name is a little play on words - my initials are ESP and ESP is a known acronym of extrasensory perception (the sixth sense).
I actually originally studied to be a naturopath but, as a highly sensitive person, I felt called to work more with my intuitive gifts and spirituality. It lead me to a holistic counselling course and, even though I hadn't considered this role before, it felt so right. My whole journey was leading up to this point. I have also spent extensive time in self-study learning about crystals, Human Design, and astrology. And now I am fortunate to use this knowledge and life wisdom to walk alongside and be a guide for others wanting more out of life, too.
Some fun facts:
I love to dance - ballet, tap, jazz, Latin, ballroom, line dancing. I love it all!
My Human Design is a 1/3 Emotional Projector and my Astrology is Leo Sun, Aries Moon, Capricorn Rising.
